Product Description:

The KERDI-LINE grate assembly is designed for use with the KERDI-LINE channel body to create a low profile linear floor drain. KERDI-LINE can be installed next to the wall or in the center of a bonded waterproof assembly. The floor can be sloped on a single plane to KERDI-LINE, which allows for the use of large-format tiles. The grate assembly includes a grate and frame. This versatile configuration supports curbless, open-concept shower spaces, wet rooms, and other tiled areas where dependable shower waterproofing and drainage are required. Its stainless steel construction provides a clean, durable finish for modern bathroom shower designs while creating a coordinated transition between the shower floor grate and surrounding floor tiles.

The stainless steel frame can be seamlessly adjusted to match the thickness of the ceramic tile or stone covering for a flush, professional installation. Standard KERDI-LINE grate assemblies accommodate coverings from 1/8" to 1" (3 mm to 25 mm) thick and feature a 3/8" (10 mm) wide reveal, while KERDI-LINE-STYLE assemblies accommodate coverings from 1/4" to 23/32" (6 mm to 18 mm) with a minimal reveal. Depending on the selected configuration, decorative options include SOLID, SQUARE, FLORAL, CURVE, and PURE grate designs, along with TILE covering supports for a tileable drain appearance. Available finishes and styles provide flexibility for coordinating the shower drain cover with ceramic tile, porcelain tile, marble tile, granite tile, stone tile, mosaic tile, and other tile finishes.

When paired with the corresponding KERDI-LINE channel body, the assembly becomes part of a complete linear shower drain system engineered for new construction and bathroom renovation projects. The formed stainless steel channel body features a standard 2" (50 mm) no-hub outlet and is available with center or offset shower drain configurations to accommodate different plumbing layouts and structural conditions. A factory-laminated KERDI collar on the bonding flange creates a secure connection with the surrounding waterproofing membrane, helping maintain continuous bathroom shower waterproofing at the drain. The supplied polystyrene foam channel support also coordinates the drain elevation with KERDI-SHOWER-LT and KERDI-SHOWER-LTS shower trays for integrated tile shower system installations.

Installation can be completed using Schluter SET, Schluter ALL-SET, Schluter FAST-SET, or suitable unmodified thin-set mortar, with adjustable spacers allowing the grate frame elevation to be aligned flush with the finished tile surface. KERDI, DITRA, or DITRA-XL waterproofing membranes can be connected around the KERDI-LINE bonding flange, while the integrated KERDI collar is embedded into the bond coat to establish full coverage around the shower floor drain. The system can be installed using the supplied channel support or set in loose mortar depending on project conditions, and the drain connection can be completed from above or below when permitted by the plumbing layout. These installation options make the KERDI-LINE system suitable for professional tile bathroom shower projects, wet rooms, shower floor tile assemblies, and custom waterproof shower designs.

KERDI-LINE requires no special maintenance and is resistant to mold and fungi, supporting dependable performance in moisture-intensive shower and wet-room environments. The grate can be removed when necessary to provide convenient access for cleaning the drain housing and drain pipes, helping maintain the shower floor drain over time. Stainless steel grates and profiles can be cleaned periodically using a mild household cleaner, while cleaning products containing hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, or chlorides should be avoided. Abrasive and alkaline cleaning agents should also not be used. Routine care helps preserve the appearance of the stainless steel floor drain cover while reducing the risk of corrosion and maintaining a clean, refined finish throughout the shower system.
