KERDI-FIX is elastomeric and bonds well to most materials, such as wood, stone, concrete, metal, glass, and many plastics. The Schluter Systems KERDI-FIX Sealing and Bonding Compound is a high-performance, single-component waterproofing adhesive formulated to provide exceptional bonding and sealing strength for a wide range of surfaces. Packaged in a convenient 290ml tube, KERDI-FIX is ideal for bonding Schluter®-KERDI waterproofing membranes, sealing pipe protrusions, and adhering various building materials, including metal, PVC, glass, and ceramic.

Engineered using a silane-modified polymer base, this flexible and durable sealer remains permanently elastic, offering superior adhesion even in wet, damp, or humid environments. For specialized shower waterproofing applications, KERDI-FIX can be used with KERDI membrane and KERDI-BOARD to waterproof valve protrusions within the Schluter Shower System. It is required for bonding KERDI membrane to the stainless steel Schluter®-KERDI-DRAIN bonding flange and is suitable for bonding KERDI-BAND and KERDI waterproofing membrane to fixed building elements. KERDI can also be bonded to bathtubs, window elements, and door frames, while KERDI-BOARD can be adhered with KERDI-FIX in applications such as countertops, partitions, and other building elements. These capabilities make it a highly versatile shower sealant and waterproof membrane bonding solution for detailed shower wall, tile backer board, shower drain, and bathroom waterproofing assemblies.

For proper KERDI membrane bonding, the installation surface must first be clean and free from grease or other contaminants that could interfere with adhesion. Apply KERDI-FIX directly to the substrate and spread it evenly using an appropriate notched trowel. Embed the KERDI membrane into the compound and work the waterproof membrane firmly onto the substrate to achieve full coverage while removing trapped air pockets. Fresh excess KERDI-FIX can be removed using a suitable cleaning agent such as mineral spirits; once the material has set, remaining residue can only be removed using mechanical methods. Following these application steps helps create a clean, secure bond throughout tile waterproofing and shower system installations.

KERDI-FIX is also suitable for use as a sealant or joint filling compound, providing contractors and installers with a versatile joint sealant for detailed waterproofing connections and construction assemblies. For proper product storage, unopened cartridges can be kept for up to 18 months when stored in a cool location above freezing temperatures. Once a cartridge has been opened, the remaining material has a limited shelf life and should be handled accordingly.
