Schluter-KERDI-FIX is a single-component sealing and bonding compound with a silane-modified polymer base. It is odor-neutral, UV- and weather-resistant, and contains no solvents. KERDI-FIX is elastomeric and bonds well to most materials, such as wood, stone, concrete, metal, glass, and many plastics. It is also suitable for bonding KERDI-BAND and KERDI waterproofing membrane to fixed building elements, providing additional installation versatility throughout waterproof membrane connections and transitions. KERDI-FIX can also be used as a sealant or joint filling compound where a flexible bonding solution is required.
The Schluter Systems KERDI-FIX KERDIFIX100G is a premium-grade, single-component sealing and bonding compound specifically designed for use with Schluter waterproofing systems, including KERDI membranes, KERDI-BOARD, and DITRA. This grey adhesive sealant is formulated with modified silane polymer, delivering high bonding strength and long-lasting flexibility. It bonds efficiently to most common building materials including ceramic tile, glass, metal, wood, and PVC, making it ideal for a wide range of shower installations, bathroom renovations, and tiled wet areas.
KERDI-FIX is weather-resistant, UV-stable, waterproof, and odor-neutral, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Its excellent adhesion to damp substrates makes it a preferred choice for sealing pipe protrusions, connecting KERDI membranes, and bonding accessories like KERDI-DRAIN and KERDI-LINE. This 290 ml cartridge fits standard caulking guns for smooth application and easy clean-up. KERDI-FIX provides additional flexibility throughout Schluter shower waterproofing assemblies by allowing valve protrusions to be waterproofed in conjunction with KERDI membrane and KERDI-BOARD. For KERDI-DRAIN installations, the compound is required for bonding KERDI membrane to the stainless steel KERDI-DRAIN bonding flange. It can also bond KERDI to fixed building elements such as bathtubs, window elements, and door frames, while KERDI-BOARD can be adhered with KERDI-FIX for countertops, partitions, and other building elements. These installation options make it a versatile waterproof sealing compound for detailed bathroom waterproofing, shower system, waterproofing membrane, and tile backer board applications.
For bonding KERDI membrane, the application surface must be clean and free of grease or other contaminants before KERDI-FIX is applied. Spread the compound evenly over the substrate using an appropriate notched trowel, then embed the KERDI membrane into the KERDI-FIX and work it firmly onto the substrate to achieve full coverage and remove air pockets. Fresh excess material can be removed with a suitable cleaning agent such as mineral spirits, while cured material can only be removed mechanically. Unopened KERDI-FIX cartridges can be stored in a cool location above freezing temperatures for up to 18 months; once opened, the material has a limited shelf life.
