Designed for use with Schluter DITRA-HEAT uncoupling membrane, this floor warming heating cable system integrates crack isolation, waterproofing, vapor management, and floor heating into one reliable solution. 

Ideal for installation under ceramic tile, porcelain tile, marble tile, cement tile, natural stone tile, granite tile, mosaic tile, slate tile, limestone tile, quartzite tile, onyx tile, travertine tile, glass tile, and engineered stone tile, the system offers flexible layout options for both new construction and remodeling remodeling projects. 

The Schluter®-DITRA-HEAT system is also suitable for applications with resilient floor coverings (e.g. LVT) and alternate floor coverings. In such installations, a cementitious self-leveling compound is required to fill the membrane, fully embed the heating cables to ensure efficient heat transfer and cable protection, and create a smooth, even substrate prior to the installation of engineered wood, wood, stone plastic composite (SPC), laminate flooring, vinyl tile, and luxury vinyl plank in dry spaces, without creating height differences in the floor—making it a great option for modern home upgrades.

Compatible with concrete subfloors, wood substrates, OSB, plywood floors, and cement backer boards, it is engineered to meet ANSI A118.12 crack prevention standards. The DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cable is approved for use in wet areas, meaning it can be safely installed in moisture-prone environments such as bathrooms and wet rooms. This makes it ideal for tile applications, including bathroom tile, shower tile, kitchen tile, and basement tile installations, as well as other tiled surfaces in both residential and commercial environments. The heating cable easily snaps into place within the membrane channels and comes with two floor sensors for advanced temperature control. The system connects to Schluter DITRA-HEAT-E-WIFI DHERT104/BW  touchscreen programmable thermostat for precise programmable heating zones and underfloor temperature regulation. 

This provides uniform heat distribution, effectively eliminating cold spots, and improves energy efficiency, making it ideal for installation in bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, foyers, entryways, dining rooms, laundry rooms, steam rooms, and sunrooms. 

When paired with the DITRA-HEAT uncoupling heat membrane, it creates a strong tile bond and neutralizes differential movement stresses between the substrate and the tile covering, preventing movement-related damage such as tile cracking, grout line stress, and delamination of the tiled surface, ensuring a long-lasting installation with excellent load distribution capabilities and functioning as an effective uncoupling layer.

When installing the Schluter®-DITRA-HEAT-E-HK heating cables, the standard spacing is 3 studs between cable runs. Alternatively, in specific areas or across the entire floor, an alternating pattern of 3-stud and 2-stud intervals can be employed to increase heat output—beneficial over uninsulated or below-grade concrete subfloors—or to accommodate excess cable length when standard spacing doesn't align with the floor area. 

To ensure a secure bond and long-lasting performance, Schluter recommends using ALL-SET modified thin-set mortar adhesive (SETA50G or SETA50W) over plywood and wood substrates or SET unmodified mortar (SET50G or SET50W) over concrete substrates.
