Schluter Systems recommends using the appropriate thin-set mortar for installing the Ditra Heat Membrane based on the type of subfloor. For plywood or other porous subfloors, use Schluter ALL-SET® (a modified thin-set mortar), which provides the necessary bonding strength. For concrete subfloors, use Schluter SET® (an unmodified thin-set mortar) to ensure proper adhesion and performance of the Ditra Heat Membrane. Selecting the correct Schluter mortar is crucial for ensuring a strong bond between the membrane and the subfloor, leading to a durable and long-lasting tile installation that maximizes the membrane's uncoupling and waterproofing properties.
