Before installation, ensure that the supporting base is level, smooth, clean, and completely dry so the waterproof membrane can achieve consistent contact with the prepared substrate. Spread the appropriate tile adhesive using an approximately 3 x 3 mm V-notched trowel, then press the membrane firmly into the adhesive with the flat edge of the trowel to remove trapped air and smooth out bubbles. Maintain a 5 cm overlap between adjoining membrane sections and increase the overlap to 10 cm along floor-to-wall transitions, or use FOILTEC/15 sealing strips to complete membrane joints. Seal overlaps, accessories, penetrations, and other critical junctions using a compatible flexible adhesive, butyl tape, MS polymer adhesive, or waterproof glue. Complete internal corners, external corners, and pipe penetrations with Foiltec preformed corner joints and pipe joints, then inspect the entire waterproof layer for continuity before installing the tile flooring directly over the Foiltec membrane with the appropriate tile adhesive.
