Product Description:

The nVent Nuheat Electric Radiant Floor Heat Cables, now part of the Chemelex Heating System, produce 12 W/ft² for a heat output of 41 BTUs/ft² (or 15 W/ft² for a heat output of 51 BTUs/ft², depending on spacing), and provide a reliable, energy-efficient solution for heating floors in both residential and commercial spaces. These cables are wet-rated for safe installation in bathrooms, hot tub and bathtub surrounds and other wet areas. Engineered for flexibility and simple set-up, these electric floor heating cables provide an efficient and reliable way to create a consistently warm, comfortable surface beneath a wide range of flooring types, including tile, stone, laminate, and engineered wood, while maintaining a low profile beneath the finished floor. The Nuheat cables can be installed in any room, from kitchens and bathrooms to living rooms and basements, making them an ideal solution for new builds or renovations where consistent radiant floor heating and comfort are priorities.

Suitable for various floor tiles, including ceramic tile, porcelain tile, vinyl tile, cement tile, granite tile, marble tile, travertine tile, slate tile, limestone tile, sandstone tile, onyx tile, quartzite tile, mosaic tile, and glass tile, as well as concrete blocks, engineered stone tiles, and natural stone tiles installed directly on top. It is also suitable for linoleum tile applications, carpet tile, vinyl flooring, and stone flooring. The Nuheat cables include plastic cable straps that secure them in place during installation, ensuring proper spacing and stability for maximum performance. They can also be installed with the Chemelex NuHeat Membrane, which is specifically designed for use with underfloor heating systems to provide a cozy, long-lasting floor system. The membrane further functions as a vapor management system, allowing moisture to escape from the substrate during the curing process and helping to protect the integrity of the floor covering. Its polypropylene layer is heat-welded to a non-woven polypropylene fabric that absorbs thinset mortar adhesive and creates a strong bond to the subfloor. Compatible subfloors include concrete, plywood, OSB, wood, cement backer board, gypsum underlayments, and other approved substrates.

Chemelex Nuheat Cables are a floor heating system designed for on-site layout configuration, allowing you to adjust spacing and routing to achieve precise coverage in irregular rooms, alcoves, and tight spaces while maintaining even heat distribution. Cable kits come in 33 sizes to cover areas from small powder rooms to expansive open-plan living areas. Single 120V cable kits heat up to approximately 120 sq ft, and single 240V cable kits heat up to approximately 240 sq ft. Multiple cables can be combined when additional coverage is required; however, if the total load exceeds 15 amps, a load relay will be required (sold separately). The cables are compatible with both thinset and self-leveling mortar, allowing for a seamless integration with your subfloor while maintaining the strength and durability required for long-term use in residential and commercial applications.

Each nVent Nuheat cable is engineered to deliver even heat distribution across the floor, ensuring consistent warmth without any hot or cold spots. For standard output, install at 3" spacing to achieve approximately 12 W/ft²; for higher output in colder areas or over concrete slabs, alternating 3"/2" spacing provides approximately 15 W/ft². The two-wire, grounded, twisted-pair design supports low-EMF operation and dependable performance under tile, stone, laminate, engineered wood, and luxury vinyl floor coverings. A durable cold lead connects the heating run to the thermostat location for a clean, professional finish during installation.

The system pairs perfectly with Nuheat’s line of thermostats, as well as other brand-name models, including non-programmable, programmable, and WiFi-enabled options, allowing you to control floor temperature with ease, precision, and efficiency. Choose the simple non-programmable control for basic daily comfort, or select a connected smart thermostat with 7-day scheduling, app control, and energy usage insights to optimize energy efficiency. These advanced thermostats offer energy-saving programming capabilities that help reduce consumption and lower heating costs while maintaining warm floors exactly when you need them.
