Description

Product Features:

  • Monolithic Single-Piece Base: The newly redesigned single-mold base increases structural rigidity and stability during tile cutting while reducing the machine’s overall weight by approximately 2 kg compared with the previous structure.
  • Up to 3/4-Inch Tile Thickness: Every MASTERPIUMA P5 ITALICA model is rated to cut tile up to 2 cm or 3/4 in thick, supporting thin tile as well as thicker professional ceramic and porcelain tile applications.
  • Advanced 18 mm Titanium Wheel: The large-diameter titanium scoring wheel features double sharpening and an integrated bearing to improve glide, reduce friction, and support precise scoring on difficult glass and ceramic materials.
  • Three-Axis Bearing Adjustment: Five bearings in the aeronautical-grade aluminum wheel holder adjust on the upper, lower, and lateral axes, helping the scoring assembly adapt smoothly to different material thicknesses.
  • Material-Specific Force Guidance: Built-in force-reference indicators help the operator select an appropriate scoring and splitting approach for fragile or thin mosaics, medium-thickness hard tile, and thick hard tile.
  • Multi-Material Tile Cutting: Montolit’s manual cutter range is designed for porcelain, ceramic, thin, thick, vitrified, glass, and glass mosaic tile, while the ITALICA scoring wheel is specifically described for glass and ceramic materials.
  • Permanent ±45° Angle Guide: The robust aluminum square adjusts from -45° to +45° and features precise, permanent laser-etched markings for straight, diagonal, and angled tile layouts.

Product Description:

The Montolit MASTERPIUMA P5 ITALICA manual tile cutter is the next technical and stylistic evolution of Montolit’s established Masterpiuma platform. Introduced in celebration of Montolit’s 80th anniversary, the ITALICA series is designed for professional tile installers who require controlled scoring, stable splitting, practical jobsite handling, and cutting capacities suited to modern ceramic tile formats. Its distinctive Technology Blue and Passion Red finish reflects Montolit’s Italian identity, while the redesigned structure focuses on rigidity, ergonomics, cutting control, and large-format tile support.

At the foundation of the Montolit MASTERPIUMA P5 ITALICA is a monolithic, single-mold base. Montolit states that the new construction increases structural rigidity and stability during cutting while reducing the machine’s overall weight by approximately 2 kg compared with the previous structure. The cutter and its accessories fit within a sturdy die-cast aluminum frame, creating a compact system that is easier to carry, position, and transport between installation areas. Aluminum support arms provide additional support for tile during measuring, scoring, and splitting.

The scoring assembly has also been substantially redesigned. Its wheel holder is manufactured from aeronautical-grade aluminum and incorporates five bearings that can be adjusted on three axes: upper, lower, and lateral. The movable bearings dynamically adapt to scoring and splitting movements, helping the handle travel smoothly across tile surfaces and accommodate different material thicknesses. The updated ergonomic handle also provides force-reference indicators to help installers adjust their technique for fragile or thin mosaics and tiles, medium-thickness hard tile, and thick hard tile. An integrated lubrication point supports routine maintenance of the scoring mechanism.

The MASTERPIUMA P5 ITALICA uses an advanced 18 mm titanium scoring wheel with double sharpening and an integrated internal bearing. According to Montolit, the larger scoring wheel improves glide, reduces friction, and enables more precise scoring on difficult materials. The wheel is designed to deliver optimized performance on glass and ceramic materials, making this professional manual tile cutter suitable for installers working with a broad range of tile finishes and compositions.

Montolit identifies its professional manual tile cutter range for use with porcelain tile, ceramic tile, thin and thick tile, vitrified tile, glass tile, and glass mosaic. The ITALICA’s adjustable force references and scoring-wheel design help the operator adapt scoring pressure to the material being cut. Tile composition, surface texture, thickness, and format should always be evaluated before completing production cuts.

For straight, repetitive, and angled layouts, the Montolit MASTERPIUMA P5 ITALICA includes a durable aluminum guide system with permanent laser-etched measurements and angular adjustment from -45° to +45°. The current manufacturer brochure specifies a 17 cm aluminum square with positioning stop, providing an extended reference surface for repetitive cuts. A double splitting system with a patented alignment guide supports controlled tile separation after the scoring pass.
