Its advanced liquid rubber polymer cures to form a seamless, flexible, load-bearing waterproof barrier that protects tile and stone assemblies from moisture penetration and substrate movement. It may also be used over exterior glue plywood in approved interior applications, as well as gypsum plaster and gypsum wallboard in interior, non-wet areas. Its self-curing formulation performs at substrate and environmental temperatures of 35°F (2°C) or higher, allowing the waterproofing system to cure under a variety of jobsite conditions.

HYDRO BAN XP features color-changing cure indicator technology that transitions from sage green to dark olive green, giving installers a clear visual indication that the liquid membrane has cured and is ready for the next installation stage. When the membrane is fully cured and the substrate has remained at 70°F (21°C) and at least 50% relative humidity for two hours, the installation may be flood tested in as little as two hours, helping contractors expedite project timelines. When temperatures or humidity levels are below these conditions, flood testing must wait until the membrane has changed to dark olive green and an additional 24 hours has passed. This easy-to-inspect curing system provides greater confidence while helping prevent premature flood testing.
