Product Description:
Laticrete Hydro Ban XP is a single-component, waterproofing and anti-fracture liquid membrane engineered for both residential and commercial applications, including bathrooms, kitchens, steam showers, pools, terraces, spas, and exterior facades. This innovative liquid rubber polymer self-cures into a flexible, seamless, waterproof barrier less than 1 mm thick, load-bearing with an extra heavy ASTM C627 rating and capable of handling substrate movement and non-structural cracks up to ⅛" (3 mm) without the need for reinforcing fabric. The product includes Microban® antimicrobial technology for mold and mildew resistance, making it ideal for wet and humid spaces, and features a color-change indicator (sage green to dark olive green) that clearly signals full cure and readiness for flood testing—typically in just two hours when conditions are appropriate.
Hydro Ban XP bonds directly to a wide array of substrates—concrete, wood, gypsum, masonry, ceramic tile, mortar beds, PVC and ABS plumbing flanges. Installation can be done with a brush, roller, or sprayer, and no fabric reinforcement is required for cracks ≤3 mm (⅛"), simplifying application and saving labor time. Suitable for low-temperature cure down to 32 °F (0 °C), it enables application even in cold environments. Its performance in both indoor and outdoor settings—such as steam rooms, hot tubs, balconies over unoccupied spaces, swimming pool surrounds, and food processing areas—makes it a versatile solution for waterproofing, anti-fracture isolation, and vapor barrier protection across diverse project types.
Hydro Ban XP is backed by industry certifications including IAPMO PS106 listing, ASTM C627 Robinson test “Extra Heavy” rating, ANSI A118.10 and A118.12 compliance, GREENGUARD certification, and Laticrete lifetime system warranties. Whether used for tiled steam showers, commercial kitchens, spa areas, bathrooms, balconies, or exterior water features, Hydro Ban XP guarantees durable, impermeable protection and reliable crack isolation for both DIY and professional installations.
