Product Description:
ARDEX V 1000™ Self-Leveling Underlayment is a premium solution designed for fast and efficient leveling and smoothing of interior concrete subfloors and cementitious terrazzo surfaces prior to the installation of finished flooring. This advanced polymer-modified underlayment is a carefully engineered blend of Portland cement, other hydraulic cements, and polymers that produces a smooth, flat, strong, and durable surface. Suitable for installations on, above, or below grade, ARDEX V 1000 helps create a dependable flooring foundation without the time-consuming process of cutting, fitting, gluing, and mechanically fastening traditional cement backer boards.
By reducing complicated floor preparation steps, ARDEX V 1000 can significantly decrease installation time and labor on residential, commercial, and light industrial flooring projects. Moisture-insensitive ceramic tile, porcelain tile, marble tile, granite tile, mosaic tile, and natural stone flooring can be installed in as little as 6 hours after application. Most other finished floor coverings can be installed after approximately 24 hours, subject to the flooring type and installation requirements. This rapid installation schedule makes ARDEX V 1000 an excellent choice for time-sensitive renovations, new construction, retail spaces, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, hallways, and other interior environments where project downtime must be minimized.
The pourable, easy-to-use formula seeks its own level and can be tapered smoothly to meet existing elevations, helping installers correct uneven surfaces and create seamless transitions between adjoining areas. ARDEX V 1000 can be installed neat from a featheredge up to 1 1/4 inches thick in a single application, making it suitable for both minor surface corrections and deeper leveling requirements. Its smooth and stable finished surface is particularly beneficial beneath large-format and super-format tile, where substrate flatness is essential for reducing tile lippage and achieving a professional-looking installation. The underlayment becomes walkable in approximately 4 to 5 hours, allowing other work to continue efficiently without extended delays.
For proper mixing, combine one 50 lb. bag of ARDEX V 1000 with 5 quarts, or 4.75 litres, of clean water. The material provides a flow time of approximately 10 minutes and covers approximately 25 square feet at a 1/4-inch thickness, although actual coverage may vary depending on the texture, profile, and condition of the surface being smoothed. Once cured, ARDEX V 1000 develops a compressive strength of approximately 4,400 psi at 28 days when tested according to ASTM C109 modified under air-cure conditions, along with a flexural strength of approximately 1,000 psi at 28 days when tested according to ASTM C348. The product has also been tested in accordance with ASTM C1708 and contains 0 VOC, supporting professional flooring installations where dependable strength and low-emission materials are important.
ARDEX V 1000 is intended exclusively for interior applications and is supplied in a convenient 50 lb., or 22.7 kg, bag. Unopened bags have a shelf life of approximately one year when stored correctly in a cool, dry area and protected from direct sunlight and moisture. Its water-only mixing requirements simplify jobsite preparation, while its high strength, smooth finish, and fast flooring installation times help provide a stable foundation that enhances the appearance, performance, and longevity of finished tile, stone, and other compatible floor coverings. ARDEX V 1000 is covered by the applicable ARDEX L.P. Standard Limited Warranty, providing additional confidence for contractors, flooring professionals, property managers, and experienced DIY installers.
