The ARDEX UI 720 is a floating uncoupling, crack-isolating membrane for tile flooring installation (basement flooring). It lays loose over the underlying subfloor, protecting the tiles above from damaging developments such as lateral movement, shifts and existing cracks. Because of its truly uncoupling properties, this membrane can be safely laid over more difficult substrate types with minimal preparation, saving time. Its perforations allow vapor pressure to equalize, which is a crucial factor for basement renovation when dealing with wood or wet concrete subfloors. The unique bone-shaped stud pattern on the surface of the membrane is easily filled by thin set mortar adhesive and undercuts on each stud will cling to cured mortar when it dries, improving grip. The studs support and protect tiles above while improving flexibility and absorbing shear movement. This improves tile and grout joint longevity. Its self-adhesive mesh topping makes connecting separate sheets of this membrane a breeze.
