ARDEX B 40 Trench Repair Mortar is a high-performance, fast-setting horizontal concrete repair mortar engineered for durable overlays and full-depth interior or exterior repairs. This Portland cement-based, polymer-modified structural repair compound is designed for deteriorated concrete located above, on, or below grade. Its high-strength formulation provides dependable long-term performance in demanding commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, and multi-unit residential environments.

Formable, pourable, and pumpable, ARDEX B 40 offers excellent workability for utility trench restoration, concrete pavement repair, pothole filling, broken pavement edges, loading areas, warehouse floors, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, airports, roadways, and city streets. The mortar installs neat from 1/2 inch to 9 inches, allowing it to handle shallow concrete overlays, localized patching, deep fills, and complete full-depth structural repairs with one versatile product.

The rapid-setting formula helps minimize facility closures, traffic interruptions, and construction downtime. Repaired surfaces can accept foot traffic in approximately 2 hours and full vehicular traffic, including rolling loads, in approximately 6 hours. ARDEX B 40 develops more than 1,000 psi compressive strength in 3 hours, approximately 6,300 psi in 1 day, 9,300 psi in 7 days, and 10,300 psi after 28 days. It also delivers flexural strength of approximately 1,200 psi at 7 and 28 days and splitting tensile strength of approximately 400 psi at 7 days and 500 psi at 28 days.

Designed for challenging service conditions, this heavy-duty concrete repair mortar is freeze-thaw resistant and helps withstand exposure to moisture, water infiltration, de-icing salts, oils, temperature changes, forklifts, carts, commercial vehicles, and normal rolling traffic. Its durable gray finish integrates well with surrounding concrete while providing a reliable repaired surface that can be coated or sealed in approximately 6 hours under suitable jobsite conditions.

For installation, mix one 50 lb. bag with 3 quarts, plus or minus 8 ounces, or approximately 2.66 to 3.0 litres, of clean water. ARDEX B 40 mixes with water only and provides a working time of approximately 10 to 20 minutes. Each 50 lb. bag yields approximately 0.4 cubic feet and covers about 9.6 square feet at a 1/2 inch depth. Store unopened bags in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and freezing conditions. The product has a shelf life of approximately one year when unopened and is covered by the ARDEX Engineered Cements Standard Limited Warranty.
