Product Description:

ARDEX B 24 Concrete Ramping Mortar is a professional-grade, trowel-grade, polymer-modified Portland cement-based horizontal repair mortar engineered for dependable concrete ramping, patching, sloping and resurfacing work. Designed for deteriorated concrete above, on or below grade, this grey structural repair mortar delivers strong bond, excellent handling and built-in reinforcement protection through its integral corrosion inhibitor. It is a practical choice for contractors who need a durable concrete repair mortar, ramping compound, Portland cement repair material and floor patching solution that can be shaped cleanly by trowel for precise transitions.

Use ARDEX B 24 for interior and exterior concrete repair applications on floors, slabs, sidewalks, plazas, walkways, driveways, balconies, parking garages, ramps, loading areas, garages, warehouses, retail spaces, institutional buildings and multi-unit residential projects. The mortar is ideal for creating smooth, durable ramps between floor levels, filling voids, repairing spalls, restoring damaged horizontal concrete and preparing concrete areas before compatible coatings, sealers, toppings, underlayments or other finishing systems. Its trowel-grade consistency helps the material stay in place on ramped surfaces and shaped repairs where ordinary patching compounds may be difficult to control.

For best performance, repair areas should be properly prepared before installation. Concrete should be sound, clean and free of dust, oils, grease, curing compounds, sealers, loose material, adhesive residue and other bond-breaking contaminants. Repairs should be saw cut or squared to at least 1/4 inch deep, mechanically prepared to the required concrete surface profile and vacuumed clean. Depending on the application, the concrete may be brought to a saturated surface dry condition or primed with the appropriate ARDEX primer system. Exposed reinforcing steel should be mechanically cleaned and primed as required before applying the repair mortar.

ARDEX B 24 mixes with clean water only, using approximately 4 to 4-1/4 quarts of water per 55 lb bag, and should be mixed to a uniform, lump-free consistency with a low-to-medium speed drill and mixing paddle or suitable mortar mixer. The mortar offers a workable pot life of about 25 to 45 minutes at standard conditions and can be installed from 1/4 inch to 4 inches neat. For deeper repairs and larger voids, it can be extended with clean, uniformly graded pea gravel and installed up to 8 inches. Each 55 lb bag provides approximately 22 sq ft of coverage at 1/4 inch thickness, depending on surface profile, density and porosity.

Once placed, ARDEX B 24 should be consolidated to remove air pockets, shaped with a steel trowel or screed and finished to the surface profile required for the final coating, topping or flooring system. Under typical conditions, repaired areas may receive light foot traffic in 2 to 4 hours, normal foot traffic in 3 days and full traffic, including rolling loads, in 5 to 7 days. This freeze-thaw resistant concrete ramping mortar is a strong option for professional concrete restoration, floor repair, ramp construction, ADA transition work, exterior patching and high-traffic horizontal concrete repair where strength, easy application and long-term stability matter.
