ARDEX B 20 Overhead and Vertical Repair Mortar with Corrosion Inhibitor is a high-performance, trowel-grade, Portland cement-based structural repair mortar designed for fast, durable restoration of vertical and overhead concrete surfaces. This polymer-modified concrete repair mortar is engineered for professional contractors, facility maintenance teams, concrete restoration specialists, and infrastructure repair professionals. Its integral corrosion inhibitor helps protect embedded reinforcing steel against oxidation, rust, and continued deterioration, supporting longer-lasting concrete repairs and extending the service life of commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-unit residential structures.

This polymer-modified structural repair mortar contains fibers and lightweight glass microspheres that add body, reduce material weight, and improve handling during demanding overhead and vertical applications. Its smooth, non-sag consistency allows the mortar to remain securely in place while being applied, shaped, sculpted, and finished with a trowel. ARDEX B 20 mixes with water only and provides excellent adhesion and workability without requiring additional liquid additives. ARDEX B 20 installs from 1/4 inch to 2 inches in depth in a single lift and can be built up to a total depth of 8 inches using multiple lifts for deeper repair applications. Its approximately 15 to 30 minute working time provides sufficient time for placement, shaping, and finishing while supporting efficient project completion and reduced downtime. The mortar is suitable for interior and exterior concrete overlays and repairs, including areas exposed to changing temperatures, moisture, de-icing salts, and demanding weather conditions. Its freeze-thaw resistance, dimensional stability, strong substrate bond, and resistance to cracking make it a dependable choice for both routine concrete maintenance and large-scale structural rehabilitation.

For installation, mix each 55 lb. bag with approximately 6 1/2 to 7 pints, or 3.07 to 3.31 litres, of clean water to produce a workable, trowel-grade consistency. Each 55 lb. bag yields approximately 0.42 cubic feet, or 0.0119 cubic metres, of mixed repair mortar and covers approximately 20 square feet at a 1/4 inch application depth. ARDEX B 20 develops approximately 3,000 psi compressive strength after one day, 5,000 psi after seven days, and 6,300 psi after 28 days. It also achieves approximately 1,100 psi flexural strength after seven days, 1,500 psi after 28 days, and a 28-day direct tensile bond strength of approximately 500 psi, with failure occurring in the concrete substrate rather than at the bond line.

ARDEX B 20 is supplied in gray, 55 lb. net weight bags and can generally be coated or sealed after approximately 3 to 7 days, depending on installation thickness, temperature, humidity, and jobsite conditions. Store unopened bags in a cool, dry location protected from direct sunlight, moisture, and freezing temperatures. When properly stored, the product has a shelf life of approximately one year in its original unopened packaging and is covered by the ARDEX L.P. Standard Limited Warranty.
