ARDEX AM 100 Rapid Pre-Tile Ramping and Smoothing Mortar is a unique, high-performance, fast-setting, polymer-modified cement-based mortar engineered for smoothing, ramping, patching, and leveling interior and exterior concrete, masonry, and cement substrates. Designed to significantly reduce surface preparation time before installing all types of tile and natural stone, this rapid-hardening mortar allows ceramic tile, porcelain tile, floor tile, wall tile, and most stone finishes to be installed in as little as 2 hours at 70°F (21°C). Its dependable speed makes it ideal for commercial renovations, residential bathroom remodeling, repair work, and fast-track construction environments where reducing project downtime is essential.

This pre-blended smoothing compound is ideal for forming sloped surfaces, filling low spots, correcting uneven walls and floors, and creating smooth, stable substrates before tile installation. ARDEX AM 100 is especially suited for re-sloping balconies, terraces, shower floors, wet rooms, fountains, swimming pools, and other tiled areas requiring an accurate slope to drains. For installation, mix each 40 lb. (18 kg) bag with 4 to 4 1/4 quarts (3.75 to 4 L) of clean water until a creamy, lump-free consistency is achieved. For smaller batches, use approximately 3 1/4 parts powder to 1 part water by volume. One bag provides approximately 22.5 sq. ft. of coverage at a 1/4-inch thickness, or approximately 2 sq. m at 6 mm, although actual coverage varies according to application depth and substrate texture. The initial set occurs in approximately 1 hour, with a final set in approximately 2 hours. Most tile can be installed after 2 hours at 70°F (21°C), while moisture-sensitive natural stone and waterproofing membranes, including ARDEX 8+9, ARDEX S 1-K, and Schluter KERDI systems, require a 24-hour waiting period.

ARDEX AM 100 contains 0 VOCs and is supplied in a 40 lb. (18 kg) net-weight bag for professional tile setters, contractors, flooring installers, remodelers, and experienced DIY projects. Store unopened bags in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight, and protect unused material by removing excess air from the bag and sealing it tightly. When stored properly in its unopened packaging, the product has a shelf life of approximately one year.
