The ARDEX UI 720 is a floating uncoupling, crack-isolating membrane for tile flooring installation (basement flooring). It lays loose over the underlying subfloor, protecting the tiles above from damaging developments such as lateral movement, shifts and existing cracks. Because of its truly uncoupling properties, this membrane can be safely laid over more difficult substrate types with minimal preparation, saving time. Its perforations allow vapor pressure to equalize, which is a crucial factor for basement renovation when dealing with wood or wet concrete subfloors. The unique bone-shaped stud pattern on the surface of the membrane is easily filled by thin set mortar adhesive and undercuts on each stud will cling to cured mortar when it dries, improving grip. The studs support and protect tiles above while improving flexibility and absorbing shear movement. This improves tile and grout joint longevity. Its self-adhesive mesh topping makes connecting separate sheets of this membrane a breeze. ARDEX UI 720 is great for linoleum and vinyl floor coverings, difficult floors such as existing tile, cracked surfaces, painted floors and mixed substrates. It is a durable crack isolation membrane and uncoupling membrane for tile, protecting your floor tiles and other surfaces by preventing potential damage and reducing grout stress from the substrate below. Works with a wide variety of surfaces - laminate flooring, vinyl flooring, linoleum tiles, ceramic tile, porcelain tiles, cement tiles, marble tiles, natural stone tiles, granite, concrete blocks and carpet tiles. Meets your home improvement needs whether you're installing bathroom tile (bathroom flooring), shower tile, or building a floor for your bed room, hallway, balcony, basement, kitchen, dining room, foyer or living area. The UI 720 is particularly well suited for offices, hotel rooms, multi-unit housing, retail boutiques, film sets and showrooms - anywhere floors are often changed or reinstalled. Made in Germany.
