ARDEX CG Concrete Guard is a professional-grade, high-solids, waterborne acrylic concrete sealer engineered to deliver dependable protection and lasting durability across a wide range of cementitious surfaces. Formulated with 40% solids and advanced acrylic resin technology, this premium concrete coating bonds securely to uncoated, absorbent concrete and masonry, forming a tough, breathable protective film. Applied in a minimum of two coats, it helps resist water intrusion, stains, UV exposure, de-icing salts, chemicals, abrasion, surface wear, and concrete dusting. It is suitable for ARDEX toppings, concrete floors, basements, garages, driveways, sidewalks, patios, courtyards, walkways, pool decks, warehouses, showrooms, and most vertical concrete surfaces.

Designed for residential and commercial concrete sealing applications, ARDEX CG Concrete Guard is durable, abrasion-resistant, nonflammable, and UV stable for reliable interior or exterior use. The clear protective finish enhances the natural appearance of plain, stamped, exposed aggregate, stained, or decorative concrete, while the Gray option delivers a consistent finished appearance where additional colour coverage is preferred. Unlike many solvent-based concrete sealers, ARDEX CG Concrete Guard is waterborne, low-odor, and easy to clean with water while the material is still wet. It has a maximum VOC content of 249 g/L, calculated and reported according to SCAQMD Rule 1113. The formula is USDA/FDA compliant under FSIS Directive 1000.4, Revision 1, and exceeds ADA requirements. Its static coefficient of friction ranges from 0.60 to 0.70 on smooth surface profiles and from 0.88 to 0.90 on medium-to-coarse surface profiles when tested according to ASTM C1028.

The quick-drying formula simplifies installation and helps reduce project downtime. At 70°F or 21°C, the coating dries to the touch in approximately one hour, accepts a second coat after two to four hours, and can receive normal traffic after 24 hours. Coverage varies according to surface texture and selected colour. Gray covers approximately 150 to 200 square feet per gallon over broom-finished concrete and 200 to 400 square feet per gallon over smooth surfaces. Clear covers approximately 200 to 300 square feet per gallon over broom-finished concrete and 400 to 600 square feet per gallon over smooth surfaces.

Packaged in a convenient 1-gallon or 3.79-litre container, ARDEX CG Concrete Guard is an efficient solution for contractors, facility managers, property owners, and experienced DIY users sealing new concrete or restoring older, weathered surfaces. Store the unopened container in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight and heat, protect it from freezing, and keep it tightly closed when not in use.
