DITRAPSMA features a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) on the backside of the membrane, eliminating the need for thin-set mortar to install the membrane. Easy-cut grooves help simplify trimming and fitting around walls, corners, and fixtures, while integrated air-release vents at the corners assist with smooth placement and proper contact against the prepared substrate. Available by the roll or sheet, this peel-and-stick floor underlayment accommodates different room sizes, layouts, residential renovations, commercial projects, and home improvement applications.

For reliable adhesive performance, store Schluter DITRA-PS-MA in a frost-free environment between 41°F and 86°F (5°C and 30°C) and protect it from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. The UV-sensitive and temperature-sensitive pressure-sensitive adhesive should be reacclimated within the recommended temperature range for at least 24 hours if the product has been exposed to conditions outside that range. The PSA is solvent-free and not water-soluble, providing a practical adhesive system for professional tile installation and DIY flooring projects when stored, prepared, and installed correctly.

Before applying the uncoupling membrane, confirm that the floor substrate is clean, level, structurally sound, and capable of supporting the completed tile assembly. Remove dust, grease, loose material, coatings, and other bond-inhibiting substances, then remove the release liner and position the membrane with the fleece and adhesive side facing downward. Firmly embed the matting using a float, screed trowel, or DITRA-ROLLER to achieve full adhesive contact, and abut the ends and sides of adjacent sheets. When using the DITRA-ROLLER, a weight of no more than 75 lb may be placed on the roller shelf before making slow, slightly overlapping passes across the floor membrane. Difficult-to-bond substrates may require Schluter-PRIMER-PS, Schluter-PRIMER-U, or another primer suitable for the specific application.

DITRA-PS-MA supports ceramic tile, porcelain tile, marble tile, granite tile, mosaic tile, cement tile, natural stone, and other compatible tile or stone floor coverings selected for the intended application. The standard minimum tile format is 2" x 2" (5 cm x 5 cm), while smaller tile formats require special installation considerations and confirmation of warranty eligibility through Schluter-Systems Technical Services.
